1. Addressing Critical Energy Infrastructure Needs: The current energy landscape in Bertoua and the surrounding region necessitates a robust and reliable infrastructure for the storage and distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (GPL). This project directly addressed this need on behalf of CSPH (the Société Camerounaise des Produits Pétroliers), aimed to enhance the availability and accessibility of this vital energy source for domestic and commercial use within the Eastern Region of Cameroon. The development of a dedicated GPL center contributed significantly to energy security and economic activity in the area.
2. Comprehensive Design and Strategic Execution: General Business & Engineering Ltd undertook the complete realization of this GPL center, commencing with the development of a detailed site plan and master plan to optimize land utilization and operational flow. This was followed by the establishment of the general layout of all works, ensuring efficient integration of the various components. A critical element of the project involved the safe and secure installation of dedicated GPL storage tanks, adhering to the highest industry safety standards. Furthermore, the project scope included the construction of necessary ancillary structures and buildings to support the center’s operations.
3. Ensuring Operational Efficiency and Site Security: Beyond the core storage facilities, the project encompasses essential infrastructure for the center’s functionality and safety. This includes the implementation of a comprehensive surface drainage gutter system to manage rainwater runoff effectively and ensure site stability. Finally, the entire perimeter of the GPL center was secured with a robust fence, providing essential security and access control in compliance with safety regulations for such facilities. Upon completion, the GPL center provided CSPH with a modern and efficient hub for the storage and distribution of GPL in Bertoua.
